I know, I know- hardly the most exciting of thread titles but I want to buy a nice one for my best friend who has dry hands and loves hand cream!

Tisserand Essential Oil rich.
Smells divine.

AllThreeWays · 13/12/2009 12:34

Crabtree and Evelyn - Gardner's hands

purplehat · 13/12/2009 12:38

Thanks everyone-lots of good candidates there- I had a Tisserand hand cream years ago- best one I ever had. How ethical are the Body Shop nowadays.....I see they have a sale on!

Jurlique is dear but lasts a long time. I have the rose one now but the lavender is my favourite.

plumpud · 13/12/2009 12:51

For everyday use I like, Elle macpherson, Bare the replenishing hand cream.. it's light and smeel nice.

As I have a really mucky job where I have my hands in all sorts of chemicals.. I use at night Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream.. Not fussed on the smell.. but it works absolute wonders!

purplehat · 13/12/2009 12:51

I think I will go for the Tisserand one (can't believe I forgot about them!)

Thanks so much for the link about BS, Mutt-I have found my last few presents on there

The Tisserand website have quite a few specials on at the mo' the essential oil rich hand cream I think is available in a set with the foam bath and somethign else. (It was a week or so back anyway)

MrsRigby · 13/12/2009 12:59

Clarins hand and nail cream. I've used a load of different hand creams and this one is just brilliant.

jooseyfruit · 13/12/2009 13:00

body shop hemp hand protector,
smells like crusty hippies but is really unctuous(sp?)

AitchTwoToTangOh · 13/12/2009 13:02

the best is by sisley if you've got sixty quid.

purplehat · 13/12/2009 13:09

£60

Blimey.
Is it worth it?

AitchTwoToTangOh · 13/12/2009 13:11

it's worth it if you're the type of person who buys really expensive stuff, iykwim? cos it is the best. cleared up dh's exczema for example. (although i must stress we got the cream for free as was beauty ed at the time).

there's a boots old ladies floral range that has an ace hand cream, and also the clarins stuff is good imo. never tried teh body shop hemp one but i might do now as everyone's saying good things.

Kaloki · 13/12/2009 13:15

I swear by the Soap and Glory one, I'm really really fussy about hand cream, I find a lot of hand creams too greasy.

BendyBob · 13/12/2009 13:22

I sometimes use the Bodyshop hemp one. It's a bit industrial looking and smelling though. Not sure I'd give it as a gift.

I've heard that Holland and Barrett sell a manuka honey handcream (£4.99?) which is supposed to be v good but I haven't tried it yet.

noddyholder · 13/12/2009 13:26

l'occitane shea butter very good and not sticky lasts all day

coolma · 13/12/2009 13:34

Elemis. Am a recent convert to all their stuff, I would like to roll around in it all day....

JumeirahJingle · 13/12/2009 13:37

L'Occitane shea butter best for dry hands but non-greasy, there are a few fragrances now, I love the rose one, so fresh, but that's just me.

bluesparklypartydress · 13/12/2009 14:15

I got Crabtree & Evelyn La Source free with Marie Claire last month and have been really impressed with it - it actually works. Packaging slightly dull but maybe that's just me. Nice smell

Maize · 13/12/2009 14:42

I use Aveeno but its not very exciting. My hands are vile if I don't moisturise and this is the only one that stops them from cracking.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 13/12/2009 15:03

Body Shop Hemp. Smell is not great but it's really effective and it feels like I've tried every other hand cream.

everylittlebeat · 13/12/2009 15:05

Atrixo - but cheap and defo not a good Xmas gift!

brimfull · 13/12/2009 15:05

yep body shop hempp is the best for effectiveness

I have tried loads , l'occitane, clarins etc
