particularly like the bit about Ideal for lightening a dark corner

Gah. They're maybe even creepier than the Baby Born ones ...

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:07

have seen them in the shops and think they are horrible. dd1 walked up to one and got the fright of her life when it toppled over. nearly gave an elderly man a heart attack too

Marina · 21/06/2005 13:09

Enid, please do tell me what you were Googling for when you unearthed this alarming site...or did you get it off Popbitch
Nailpolish I shouldn't laugh but your poor dd1 and that poor old guy

starlover · 21/06/2005 13:10

there's one called Linus!!!!!!!!! (that's my ds!!!)

SoupDragon · 21/06/2005 13:10

I might get one to replace DS2.

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:10

marina, laugh away, i was creasing myself at the time

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:10

LOL at soupdragon!!!!!!!!

do they sell them in waitrose?

assumedname · 21/06/2005 13:10

Truly weird.

SoupDragon · 21/06/2005 13:11

Well, there were lots of still children staring in my direction today so they might. Going by that evidence, there were some adult versions too.

beachyhead · 21/06/2005 13:12

You could put one in the sitting room and pretend you've adopted a kid to freak out your LO's.....

now who's a bad mummy

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:14

PMSL! soupdragon you are hilarious.

marthamoo · 21/06/2005 13:15

Those are so creepy. What kind of weirdo would want something like that?

(Loads of regular MNers will now change their names to say they have one and they're very insulted )

Lonelymum · 21/06/2005 13:16

What on earth is the point? Just another thing to dust IMO.

SoupDragon · 21/06/2005 13:26

Oh what a wonderful thought - a child that you simply have to dust occasionally.... hell, get a cleaner and you wouldn't even have to do that much.

Enid · 21/06/2005 13:28

nailpolish · 21/06/2005 13:30

soupdragon have just sprayed my black cherry yoghurt all over the monitor thanks to you. you crack me up.

SoupDragon · 21/06/2005 13:31

I do my best

Ulysees · 21/06/2005 13:45

They're so horrid. Do they have faces?

oliveoil · 21/06/2005 13:45

They should bring out a range: Tantrum kid (purple face), The Gina (smug contented smile) etc etc

Marina · 21/06/2005 13:56

I've just had a nasty flashback to the "child" with the gas-mask on in the Blitz two-parter of Dr Who

SoupDragon · 21/06/2005 13:57

DSs were wandering round last night saying "Have you seen my mummy?". Freaked me out completely.

Marina · 21/06/2005 13:58

Our normally titanium-nerved ds asked us to turn it off, which we did immediately, feeling dreadful about letting him see even some of that episode. We somehow missed the age-related warning. I was not sorry to miss the rest of it either Soupy
