Energy saving bulbs which actually provide light...

is what I'm looking for.
Am really fed up of my house feeling like a medieval dungeon for half an hour before the bloody bulbs actually provide some useful light.
We have halogen spots in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom which is fine but the rest of the house is so dingy.

I think the electricity guzzling versions are being phased out soon so what should I be buying to provide some light in my life?

There is no answer to your question.

Oh no, don't say that.
Surely I don't have to resign myself to a headlamp in the comfort of my own home!!

I use the ones that look like standard lightbulbs but bigger. They are not baaaaad, but take a few seconds to come on. Will try to find a link.

Taaadaaah!!

Exciting stuff for a Saturday night, eh?

Yep, it was lightbulbs or clubbing, close call

Thanks for the link, will give it a try, must be better than what we've got at the moment.
