Air Purifier

Anyone had any experience of air purifiers? I'd just like to cut down on cat hair, dust, etc in our house. It's not horrific, but a reduction would be nice.

How noisy are they? How effective? Do you have to change filters etc a lot?

Depends on which one you get. I have two different ones 1) Goodshpere, quite quiet - I was a bit dubious about its effectiveness but a friend lent me hers to try and I loved it. no filters but needs to be used with their (aromatherapy) essences (didn't like the idea of that but some of the scents are really nice - the eucalyptus is great when sniffly) you get a trial size selection of all of the essences when you buy one. goodsphere.co.uk 2)amcor PURE-AIRE, it definately makes a humming sound and it has a filter that you just wipe clean.
