Which dyson?

now I know this could start a few 'dysons are rubbish' arguments but I love them! G-MIL has offered to buy us one as a wedding gift, but I don't know which to ask for. I don't like the look of the new ones with the ball, so I'm thinking the DC07 or the DC14. I can't see a major difference between them, but does anyone else?

I only have a DC04 - happy with its service to date!

We have an animal and it's great.

You actually get to see what the colour of your carpets are when you've hoovered up!

NBG - is your animal really really loud? Ours is it sounds slightly like it's breaking! It's the DC14 btw

I hear what you are saying but, we had a really old DC04 which I loved, after loads of use it eventually broke and I went straight out and bought a new one, it is total crap (excuse my language), so dissapointed, I've had it for a year and have totally given up on it and bought a bissell.

I have a DC07 witht eh big drum thingy and it's excellent we have the animal one as we need it with the dogs, had it just on a year with a GSD (malting twice a year) and never had any trouble from it) mum has a DC14 (just the standard one) and she's happy with hers, only thing is the drum is small. but big enough for just her and dad.

lunavix · 18/06/2005 22:07

munz is your parents dc14 raelly loud? Ours sounds like a rock is stuck up there!

lunavix, you have a G-MIL? How lovely!

I have a purple-and-red Dyson DC07 - it was fantastic when I first got it but it's not right now - still works but half-heartedly. They are huge and heavy and temperamental and I would not get another.

For Dyson kind of money, I'd get a Miele or Bosch from Hughes Direct .

Luna, see this thread for the one you really want

mandyc66 · 18/06/2005 23:28

I hated mine!!! but it was an early one and maybe they have improved!!!!

munz · 19/06/2005 12:13

lun - not that I noticed, well no more than mine anyhow, personally i'm glad we got the older one with the bigger drum as it suits us better with the dogs.
