ours has just packed up after 8 years of service.

Am looking for something which is easy to use, and reasonably compact, and not too expensive!

Thank you my dears.

Panasonic make great breadmakers

Ours is a panasonic, I bought it second hand off amazon for £40 as opposed to £120 and it came as new. We use it almost every day.

My Kenwood cost £50 - I am on my third & the previous 2 each did about 700-750 loaves which works out at between 6 & 7p a loaf for the breadmaker

I've just bought a Panasonic and it's marvellous. It was £89.99 on Amazon, as opposed to £117.99 in Comet!

Another vote for Panasonic!

Thank you ladies. Looks like Panasonic is the way to go, but will also check out Kenwood.

I have a Panasonic SD254, which is good. The Breville BR3 I had before was also good. That model is discontinued. I guess the nearest equivalent to the BR3 is probably the BR8 (Worral Thompson).

The loaves are similar quality.

The Panasonic is more compact and quieter than the BR3. It's possible the BR8 is as quiet as the Panasonic?

The Breville had a glass viewing window, which the Panasonic does not. It also allowed me to use the timer with the dough programs, which the Panasonic does not.

If you are offered a Prima breadmaker, run away screaming.
