where to get foil balloons and helium

i want to get some balloons for Linus's naming day. I think there is somewhere local to me that does them... but wondered if it'd be cheaper to buy online.

I also want to do a mini balloon release so am thinking it's probably worth getting one of the helium canisters to use...

anyone used anywhere online to buy this kind of stuff? somewhere cheap?

You can just use normal balloons with helium, it works out cheaper.

Canisters are around £60 each from suppliers, which will do about 100 balloons, but Woolworths and Asda occasionally do small canisters (enough for 30 balloons) for around £20.

They look great for decorating the house on the day.

If you are going to do a balloon release you do officially need clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority or you can be prosecuted, so you either need to contact them or do something else.

(I can't believe how much useless information I know.)

Hehe - in that case, foil balloons will set you back about 3 quid each I think. You could check out Ebay though - you might get a cheap supplier on there.

ooh now that's a good idea!
