Sat Nav - what do you recommend?

I know nothing about Sat Nav but was thinking of getting one for my dad. He's in his 70's but loves a gadget.

Anyone got any tips/recommendations?

Don't drop it!

Seriously, I have one, it was great til I dropped on a carpeted floor, now it doesn't work. They're about £40 in Halfords
