After 2 years of nagging we've relented and are pooling all his bday money and some of Xmas to get ds a ds. Consequently he'll only be getting 2 games so they have to be a success. There are 100s

He likes the look of that dalmation dog thing ? that roles over etc. The Lego ones,Bolt?

I thought the Mario Karts,Carnival fairground games,Sims wild animal thing(the new one with a bear on)????

What does your son love and what has been a success. Ds is a good reader, very computer literate and picks things up easily.

Also does the DS do anything than run these games that you buy on?

We're going for the cheaper older one,is that the right thing to do or should we get the newer one-we won't be replacing it for a long time.

there is an updated version of software which we had to download for the DSi as dh accepted an update that blocked the game card we had.

SomeGuy · 06/09/2009 20:22

it's quite likely that you'll be forever playing catchup if you have a DSi. Nintendo will continually be breaking them

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 06/09/2009 20:25

We have some brand new games that aren't being used, still in their wrapping.

Any use to you?

Will check the titles and ages for if so.

No, you will only be playing catch up if you update the software through the wi-fi connection or if you buy a new dsi. You dont need to update, the internet on the dsi is really only a platform to enable you to download games from the nintendo shop. It's a gimmick designed to get you spending money.
We have disabled the wi-fi on the kids consoles.

Excuse lack of punctuation, am typing on ipod.
