What phone / broadband packages do you recommend? Have tried doing some internet research but am baffled by the choice.

it depends whether you are in a network area or not. We're not so we don't get to choose some of the cheaper options. I am currently looking into the Post Office broadband and home phone which works out cheapest (I think) for us.
