Amazon Prime - pay £48 for a year of next day delivery anyone a member

We are thinking of using this as we shop online fair bit , must buy at least one thing from amazon a month if not more.

But we are buying dd a new mattress so thought we would just get one of amazon, but the best priced ones were not available to buy using our prime account which is on trial at the moment.

Is anyone else using it? What do you think of the deal?

I use it but we have a delivery of books roughly once every ten days and it's great.

I usually have to answer the door for it.

I've had it nearly a year and have used it a lot. Next day delivery is fab for forgotten birthday presents! Deliveries vary depending on what you've ordered - some courier (Citylink) and some RM.

Ponders · 26/07/2009 19:12

Here if it's small enough it comes with the mail, if not Parcelforce - still next day though.

I think amazon are keeping Royal Mail going almost single-handedly

Ponders · 26/07/2009 19:13

And I've never had to sign for anything???

MollieO · 26/07/2009 19:22

I have to sign for Citylink stuff which can be a pita. If you aren't in you have to call them and arrange redelivery and then no signature is required for the second delivery.

Ponders · 26/07/2009 19:24

Oh, I don't think I've ever had anything delivered by Citylink, it's all Parcelforce, is that why? Does it depend on size?

Ponders · 26/07/2009 19:29

flatcap, is there anything suitable on mattressnextday? Free next day delivery.

MaybeAfterBreakfast · 26/07/2009 19:39

Yes, and use it a lot (once or twice a week). Fantastic at Christmas time or to deal with short notice birthday party presents.

I find that if I order in good time it comes with the postman (who comes at the same time each day). If I order within the final hour before the deadline for next day delivery it comes with Citylink who are a bit more random and ask for a signature.

Thanks for that ponders,

I've ordered in good time and had Citylink. Doesn't seem to depend on size at all. They've sent me a single printer cartridge by Citylink. Annoying as that size will go through the letterbox but not if there is no signature.
