CAR without CARPET...is your vehicle easy to clean?

I'm SO fed up with trying to clean the floors in our car (well it's my mother's which makes it worse really)

They are coated in a fuzzy manmade black carpety stuff which just won't give up the muck, won't respond to hoover, won't clean up at all really to any sort of satisfactory level.

I'm interested to know if there is a car without carpet in it. Obv a Landrover would be great but other than that, can anyone please recommend a vehicle I could look at getting second hand that would be cleanable?

...and why do car makers put carpet in anyway? Don't they understand that people wear shoes which get dirty and then have to drive in said shoes? Quite apart from the whole children thing.

Get a set of rubber mats for front and back, They protect most of the carpet and are easier to clean.

Thanks Chippy, but I tried that - they didn't cover enough of it sadly, but my children are particularly messy...I'd just like to be able to get the dirt out, really, once it is there...perhaps I could remove the carpet? Or would they fall out through the floor?

I'm looking for the same thing - found Renault Kangoo so far www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/renault/kangoo-mpv/full-review/23547-7

Other alternatives are the Citroen Nemo, Fiat Doblo and Peugeot Tepee, all with wipe-clean rubber flooring. They are all basically the same vehicle - cars based on small vans, and with very useful sliding doors for the back seats.
