I need a super cheap, waterproof double buggy

To leave outside so I can evacuate the children easily in the event of a fire.

It's a request from OFSTED that a buggy is available at all times for emergencies

The one I am currently using is too nice & it will get mildew if left out all winter

Ideally I need something cheap/without lots of material (maybe nylon-y)

No - the rain cover gets condensation & that makes the cloth wet

I would just try and get a cheap graco side by side or basic tandem and accept you will have to bin them every so often.

Actually bleach gets the mildew off quite often without bleaching the fabric IYSWIM

You need a metal bench on wheels kind of thing, likea double evac chair

or a disney/legolan stroller thing those are moulded plastic

I thought about those old fashioned strollers with that fabric that's like Laundry bags

Moulded plastic would be good too or a bench

I'm thinking waterproof spray like you use on shoes or gortex waterproofs would help?

If something is 100% clean then it shouldn't get mildew.

If there was a fire I wouldn't care if the buggy you used to save my child in was covered in mildrew.

Oh I agree but I hate waste

I guess an evacuation cot is the way to go - they are just so expensive

well i would imagine that if you got yourself & kids outside to where the buggy was kept, then you were evacuated succesfully????

I live in a 1st floor maisonette and keep my buggy in a small plastic tool shed from homebase but have seen them in argos too, they usually cost around £75-100. maybe something worth cosideringif you cant find the buggy you are looking for.

The buggy is kept (unfolded) on the deck outside the back door of the playroom. I can't really put a shed on the deck.

Or I think you could get a small umbrella (folded) stroller into one of these.
