Can anyone reccomend a car seat for a large baby (2months and just over 7kg)?

I have an 8 week old who is 7.1kg and at the rate he is growing, he will not fit in his M&P Primo Viaggio car seat for long! I want him to be rear facing for as long as possible, but he is also a long baby as well as being big in weight.

Anyone in a similar position that can recommend a good and safe car seat?

Thanks

I had ds2 rear facing in his second stage carseat. It was nearly four years ago but it worked for us - both my ds's were big

Britax First Class si- will rear face up to 13kgs, then FF to 18kgs.
There are a few other combination seats (rear and forward) on the market but I've only had the Britax- we've been very happy with it.

my sisters baby was 9kg at 3 months and didnt fit in his mothercare seat. he still fits in my old maxi cosi one though at nearly 6 months old so i think its quite roomy

Graco auto base

New version of britax rock a tot

Definitely rear facing for a good while yet.

thanks for responses - all about me - which maxi cosi is it?
nimnom - was your second stage seat designed to rear face? if so, which is it, as mine is only forward facing (from ds1).

thanks

My DS was in his maxi cosi cabrio until he was well over a year old.

BTW car seats only become too small when their head is poking over the top, it doesn't matter about how much their legs are sticking out.

Thanks trixy - out of interest, how heavy was your ds?
