Is a £300 Satnav really THAT much better than a £59 one?

I want to buy a satnav and am wondering why the cheaper ones
like these ones are SO much cheaper. Are they any good?

I've never had Satnavs so am a complete novice.

I suppose it depends if you will use the more expensive options.

DH bought a top-of-the-range Tom Tom, but he needed full European cover, blue tooth connection for his phone (works as a Hands Free), Traffic warnings, speed cameras etc etc. The Traffic Warnings are great if you travel long distances.

the £59 one on that site is refurbished ie second hand, probably from a company car. It wouldn't bother me, and comes with a guarantee, but that's part of the reason it's cheap.

ooh mine has speed camera detector. it beeps annoyingly until you pass it, but i quite like that bit. north circular is just one long beep beep beep
