Combined sand & water table or separate ones?

We have the space (and cash I suppose) to buy a separate sand table/sandpit and water table thingy but not sure what would be best. We have dc's 5.7, 2.7 and dts are 9 months. Have never had any sand or water things before, just want to keep the older dc's occupied this summer & dt's in the future!

any recommendations would be gratefully received

separate. it's all just end up in one big mess with a combined one.

hmm well i have a sandpit and a water table.
the sand still ends up in the water even though they're separate lol although i imagine it would be even worse if I had it combined (easier to move large quantities!)

well the sand/ water table works well if you put two of te same thing in either side. def dont combine them into one!!

separate
we have one table and I alternate sand or water

a bag of sand lasted my kids about 2 days!

separate

and a vote for a sand pit they can all sit round rather than a table, which is always too small. Sand lasts much longer as it doesn;t fall out so much (iyswim)

for water an old baby bath either on the ground or on a few bricks is brilliant

Oh-k! Message pretty clear there, thanks all Will start looking at sandpits/tables instead and worry about water later!
