Yes it does. I use it all the time when i go back. Am so that you are moving to Scotland, whereabouts are you moving to?
Try Avon online, sometimes it is BOGOF of 3 for £5.00

D&G.
Been away for nearly 10 years, and now moving back to the same region i grew up in.

yeah it works, I use it all the time.

Agree avon online about the best for bargains etc.

Saltire · 24/05/2009 18:01

OOh, I'm from there!. ooh, wondering which part now, the D or the G?

With the Avon its this one you need but my mate says she uses the same smelling shower gel and it works jsut as well.

Bonneville · 24/05/2009 18:01

I may be just me but I find it dosen't stop them from landing on me - I just find if I use plenty they will drown in it. However most people seem to find it works for them.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 24/05/2009 18:02

do you have to cover yourself in it?
i presume it's pleasant and not sticky like normal repellants?

Just spray it on, it has a smell, but it's pleasant, it dries into teh skin.
I love Moffat. The Dses like going to teh big park there. I'm from teh D part of the county as well, more over to the East of the county though

skin so soft works well works well in all areas of D&G. i have used it pretty much across the whole region apart from way out west.
You have to apply it quite frequently apparently MOD tested it at 17and a half minutes intervals to be most affective.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 24/05/2009 21:20

17 and a half minutes!

saltire, i wonder if we know each other. hmm.

It does work (we're in Angus tho', east coast midgies are a bit guff, apparently)

We stayed in a B&B in Moffat once - it had simulateously the most dayglo trippy bedcovers and squeakiest bedsprings ever.

Great combo for a couple wed but 6 months

Nyx · 24/05/2009 22:10

Yes, it works! I'm from the Western Isles and my mum still lives there - major midgies up there. Some evenings it's unthinkable to even open the door or go out to take in the washing. UNLESS of course you have your Avon skin-so-soft! I bought 2 for 1 initially, sent them up to my Mum to see if they'd work. I got a frantic phone call a week or so later - my normally laid-back mum demanding that I immediately buy as many as I can afford and send them all up to her asap, just in case it was discontinued or something!

I've used it myself when up home on a holiday and I was amazed (and happy). Yes, you have to reapply rather a lot, but hey, it's worth it

Saltire · 25/05/2009 18:55

Dragonbutter, I wonder if we do, I used to know someone from Moffat through youth club work

Saltire · 25/05/2009 18:57

I love Moffat toffee

nevergoogledragonbutter · 25/05/2009 19:47

when you say east of the region, are we talking eskdalemuir, lockerbie or gretna?

OP posts:
Saltire · 26/05/2009 23:28

Sort of. Near there. Very east, as far east as it's possible without being in the Borders.IYSWIM
