Buying a new car online

Hi, not sure if this is the right place, but had anyone bought a new car using an online 'broker'?

DH has found some deals for about 1.5k less than the main dealer, but I'm not sure how much I trust doing this and what happens if something goes wrong with it.

Any opinions?

we have bought via autobytel. it was fine, you actually end up buying from a dealer, they act for you finding the cheapest price iyswim. for people like us that hate haggling it is perfect. We ended up with a dealer in leicestershire, we are in beds, so ok to travel to. agreed part exchange and sorted out finance before hand, just drove up in old car and came back in new. We saved about £3k off list price and prob about £1.5k what we would have done if we had negotiated ourselves, this was pre credit crunch. The only word of caution is to make sure that you are getting a new bang up to date model. some of the sites we looked at with really low prices listed features on the car we wanted that had only been available over a year ago. once we knew the bang up to date spec, we were confident on what we were getting.
