TENS machines - any difference between the makes?

I borrowed an NHS one with DD, and it was all I needed in labour (I know, lucky me...) so I know I want one this time around.

But 3 years later they've stopped that service - they kept disappearing - and as far as I can see it's almost as much to hire one as to buy one, and if I've got it I can resell on ebay and recoup some of the wonga.

So - any recommendations for one brand over another? I know that as soon as it says 'suitable for labour' on the box, the price is £15 more! Elle and MamaTens seem to be all over Ebay like a rash...

Hi a TENS machine was all I used for DS's birth 16 months ago too so I am glad I bought my own as I have now moved abroad, am 38+2 and plan to use it again for this baby. I have the MamaTens and thought it was really good. Easy to use and effective. I liked the fact that it had different levels of surges if you know what I mean. I bought mine on Amazon, that was the cheapest place at the time. Another good thing about having your own is that you can use it for after pains which I believe are more likely after a 2nd or subsequent baby hope all goes very well with the birth

Thanks - seen lots of them around. You had the presence of mind to change the 'boost' levels? I'm impressed!
