well, very good friend of mine has the Nikon and his dad is a photographer and so is his brother so he does have good photographic knowledge and anyway, he says it is fab and his pics have been brill. We have canons in our house (although not that on but fancy it!) but after Davids purchase I would be swaying over to the Nikon.

Have you been on this site?

oh but I know the canon cameras can usually take the non difital lenses too so that's a plus.

maxybrown · 22/05/2009 22:25

sorry can't spell, I meant from older slr cameras that are non digital. make sense??

MerlinsBeard · 22/05/2009 22:59

thank you

i am veering towards the Nikon tbh but getting confused by "live view" - wtf is that all about?!

nah, it's tosh. it just means that you can use it like an ordinary digital camera with the screen but it's not QUITE the same on an slr.

MerlinsBeard · 22/05/2009 23:09

we have fujifilm at mo and tbh i do use the lcd screen quite a bit - easier for candids of the DCs and needing to watch a baby loL! - can i not do that with a nikon then?

no. Not unless it has live view. Slr's aren't really meant for that really I guess. I love my screen, but on my slr don't even think about it!

MerlinsBeard · 22/05/2009 23:44

Thank youi Maxy you have been very helpful!

I do use the screen a lot so will have to play with one of each in the shop and see which fits.
