Looking for kids bedroom wall storage (but not just a shelf!)

Hi, my DS bedroom is verrrrry small, and I mean small. We are in the process of painting it (wont take long!) and he needs a new bed. Initially we were thinking a bed with storage like with drawers/small cupboard etc. (we dont want a high bed with a ladder he is almost 8 and he will grow out of it too quickly). Now I'm wondering about some sort of storage that fits to a wall, alongside a bed. Not over bed storage as that would get in the way of his window, but something that runs along side a bed.

Sorry if I am rambling! The only thing I have seen is in littlwoodsdirect but this is working out quite costly if we buy the wall storage unit, the bed, mattress, and he needs a wardrobe. So i wondered if anyone has seen anything like this, or if any of your DCs have something like this? thanks for your help.

Take a look in the ikea online cat - they have some good plans for small bedrooms and do have wall cuboards (similar to kitchen wall cuboards )

this - any good - goes at the end of the bed?

I know you said not shelves, but in a wee room, I quite like a high shelf running the whole length of the longest wall (or more than one) and you can have hooks or fun pegs below it, with hanging storage for bits and pieces (kinda like wardrobe hanging storage things.

chippyminton, i love that but it couldnt go at the end of the bed either - as there is an overstairs cupboard there!

i will check out ikea ivykaty44, thanks.

Hi. I know this is a type of shelf but would maybe mean you could do without a bedside table.

It's also really nice!

Also, when I was little I had a very small room and my Dad suspended small rope ladders (think he made them himself) from the ceiling and tied all my soft toys onto them. It looked really sweet.
