Need to change my car but finding it hard to come up with a shortlist.

I am very tall AND have a really bad back and the constant bending over to put my daughter in her car seat is bloody painful. So I want something high to limit the bending. Additionally doors that open very wide wwould make life a bit easier.

Want to try and avoid MPV 4x4 if possible as the vast majorit of my trips are local, to and from work etc.

Oh and not too many £££. Mr Tobermory says 5k max!!

Try a Mercedes A class - they are high and comfortable. I had a B class, and there was plenty of head room for 6'3 DH (same shape, B class longer)

The Citroen Picasso has high seats, they are often used for Motability cars as they are easy to get in and out of. Quite cheap too - our local garage is selling a 2004 model with 42000miles for 4.5k.

Has to be said they are not the most glamorous or nippy of cars, but ours has been a real workhorse - driving to France from the Midlands for the past 5 years and only costing a couple of hundred each yearly service.

A class Merc are high - a coupla friends have them and you have to step up to get in them, but they're little cars really.

Obviously a 4 door car not a two door if you have a littley in car seats who needs strapping in. 4 doors usually cheaper

Perhaps a Renault Scenic (old style)? Easily pick one up second hand. Very high and good for my grandfather's creaky old back.

arnold clark have some great offers on the newer scenic atm,
there were a few 06/56 plate ones in our local one for £5000 ish

Thanks all, not considered the picasso, maybe have to go and look.
madamy, i would love glamorous and nippy, the day I found out i was pg with my DD my DD my DH had just given in and agreed that an Audi TT was just what i needed. Obvioulsy with a growing bump and SPD, I didnt get my TT! I have resigned my self to sensible and pain reducing for now!
I have though about an A class but think they migt be just too small, or maybe i just need to get used to packign lighter!

Renault scenic could be added as a maybe, thanks.
