Twin 8 year old girls. We're not going to the church due to lack of space but we are going to the party afterwards. I'm a lapsed catholic and can't for the life of me remember what I received.

Any ideas?

How about a St Christopher? I can't remember what I received either.

I am buying book tokens for the kids whose party I am going to.
I am an active Catholic, but know they will get religious gifts from their families and God parents.
One of my friends is buying them a joke book!

It doesn't have to be religious, but generally should be 'worthy', hence the book tokens.

DD1 had her first communion a couple of weeks ago. If you have time, we got her this ceramic cross which she loves. But I agree, families tend to give religious gifts and I have given book tokens (or a 'religious' book like this or this in the past.

DD didn't get a rosary, however, and was very disappointed!

I recently gave a nice cross pendant with some charms on it on a child sized chain as a present, but I figured, it would be something they could put on a larger chain as they grow, as it wasn't too babyish. It probably wasn't the most original gift ever, but seemed to go down well
