Slings ; Ergo vs Connecta ?

I really need a new sling for DD2 ( 8 months ) that DH is happy to use to .

I have a calin bleu gauze just now which is great for me but I like to have her on my back so I can get on with things and it's a bit of a faff with a wrap !

I have an Ergo on loan from a friend and I have been carrying her on my back loads and it has been great . DH tried it at the weekend and liked it too.

So .. I was all set to buy an Ergo when I discovered the Connecta ! It has such good reviews ! Now I have a dilemma - do I just get an Ergo as planned , or are Connectas that much better?

I love my Ergo. I carry my 11 mo ds in it most days and today had my friend's 27mo in it with no problem. It will hold it's value too if you decide to sell it. I have 2 friends with Patapums though and they get on well with them

i think (not tried though) that connectas do not have a padded waistband, so might be less supportive. if you like the ergo but want something prettier like the connecta, the angelpack might be an option

An angelpack ? That sounds pretty .

But , oh no , I'm SO indecisive that if I start looking at another kind of sling it'll be months before I make a decision !

Am watching a couple of Ergos on ebay tonight so that could make the decision.

I got a solarweave connecta a couple of weeks ago for my 8 month old (first non-wrap) and absolutely love it. So easy to use, folds up really small and very comfortable. Not much use to you though as have never tried an ergo!

If your DH is happy with the ergo then get it. My DH has refused to use a plain red Wilkinet (red his fav colour) and a connecta in blue and black as they are "too girly". Both great slings. Instead he insists on using the Littlelife mountain climbing size frame carrier then complains it feels heavy and chafes!

Thanks for the replies.

Ihave just ordered a Connecta and am quite excited ! It's a cool retro print fabric and she's gonna add a sleep hood .

Luckily DH is quite happy to wear girly slings , tho' i think this is reversible so he can wear it on the black side if he balks at 'Norwegian birds' .
