Does anybody know what is going on with these water filled yo yo things that are made of rubber I caught the tail end if someone talking the other day and they were saying there had been something in the paper about them being dangerours and being withdrawn. Is this true, and what has happened and is it a certain type? my kids have a few of these and love them and I don't know what to do.

THey are banning the sale of them, in case children get the rubbery string bit wrapped aroung their neck and strangle temselves. Regardong the ones already sold they have said that they will leave that to the judgment of the parent.

Heard about this ban to due to rick of strangulation. Unfortunately street traders don't seem to have heard of the ban yet though, so, like most things, it'll probably take a child to be injured for anything proper to be done.

Those yo-yos, ugh...is it only me who thinks they feel like testicles?

Blimey Lil, your posting on this subject has tempted me to seek the offending toys out without delay...

Lil thats the first thing I thought of when I saw them I put two together and said laughing to my friends 'what do these remind you of' and they just looked at me blankly .Are we the only ones?

Ha Ha Jobey, I got the same blank response over sunday lunch with my sister-in-laws. Thought it must just be me too!

Apparently it is the weighted ends that cause the problem - if the string gets caught around a kids neck, the weights cause them to spin round very quickly and strangle the kid before they can stop it. There have been some very close calls already, with only handy pairs of scissors saving the day.
