Are there any good sofa offers around? Preferably WIPEABLE ie leather...

Humph. I'm fed up with a filthy, second hand sofa covered in biscuit, felt pen and vomit stains.

I've decided I need leather, to see us through the early years...but where to get a decent one, I've seen a few in Argos etc but tbh the idea of cheapo leather is a bit yuck especially if it's from cruelly treated cows, ie in China etc.

So hoping to find something of a better quality, but massively reduced ie clearance or ex display.

If anyone has seen something nice, and is kind enough to pass on the tip, I'd be grateful

where abouts are u? we are planning on selling our leather sofa and chair. In great condition and nothing wrong. Cost me a small fouture and dh is going mad but i have seen a new one i want .
The other thing to say is DFS do their sofa's on 4 years intrest free, so might be worth a lookie

InternationalFlight · 16/05/2009 17:31

Ooh thanks

Mamazon I'll have a look at Harveys then.

I quite like more traditional style, you know, curvy and sausagey than the square stylish type.

Lisa, I'm in Kent, is that too far?

I've looked at DFS and like their Cassidy one but afraid there might be a catch? Isn't it one of those don't call us, we'll send someone round type arrangements?

Hmm can't find that offer on Harveys
Maybe it's just local.

Anyone who's used DFS...are they trustworthy etc?

the one we have now is from dfs. No problems at all. We went in to look at new sofa the other day, very helpful but no pressure. You can choose it spread over 4 years, or pay nothing for a year and then pay over 3 years. No catch.

Im in herts

I got my 3 seater and 2 seater from Argos for about £699 I think.

SparklyGothKat · 16/05/2009 19:54

I have been to harveys today to look at the Turin sofa www.harveysfurniture.co.uk/SearchResults.aspx?SearchText=turin as I need a new one. Its very comfy and I have a very similar one that I brought from Harveys in 2005

SparklyGothKat · 16/05/2009 19:55

I only need a new one because Ds2 drew on my 3 seater with perm. marker and the house insurance has written it off, not because its knackered lol

InternationalFlight · 17/05/2009 08:18

Oh bad luck SGK! Hope you get a nice new one though.

Thanks Lisa, I guess a courier would do it - I know a really good courier. What kind of style have you got? We've a Victorian flat so anything tres moderne would probably look funny here!
