they do come off, but the actual straps wont come off, i think they disconnect underneath the seat so that you can slip them out of the cover, does that make sense? do you have the instruction leaflet that came with it?

i did struggle to get them off myself but did manage it in the end. it is possible sorry i cant be more help

Yes, you have to get to the back of it, and unhook the straps, and make sure you carefully note what you are doing so it does not all go wrong when it comes to putting it back together, because if I remember correctly, once the staps are unthreaded they end up as just a couple of long pieces of stuff that do not resemble something that can easily become a secure strap again!

Just so you know, and it is much easier, Maxi cosi make seat covers. THey are towelling and come off v easily. We only got one with Ds's new seat (3-12yr old) as we thought it might get quite grubby!
Anyhow hope you got it back on again!

i found after washing the covers (i washed by hand) they never really looked 'as new' cos the stringy nylon wires thingies start coming out.. love the seat, but shite fabric and workmanship- im really careful with mine, but despite that, it stated to kinda come away behind the headrest thing iykwim..
