Anyone know anything about Steiff toys?

I've just discovered during a sort-out of old toys a Steiff lion (cuddly toy) that I bought as a child on a holiday to Germany in about 1979. It's quite small but I know Steiff toys are very expensive to buy now - does anyone think it might be valuable?

Could be - they're always turning up on the Antiques Roadshow. Try a search of completed auctions on eBay (the American one as well as the British one, just in case the market is hotter on one side of the Atlantic than the other)
