Matchbox mega rig space shuttle /Playmobil rubbish truck

Hello, anyone got either of these and any comments thinking of getting for my ds(4) for his birthday and am sure he would like both but we would only get one.... so any advice welcome thanks

I don't have either of them, but was going to get the matchbox space shuttle for ds last christmas.

The lady in John Lewis was kind enough to let me open it up. It seems pretty good quality, the plastic wasn't brittle iykwim, also loads of wheels and bits to fit together. In the end we decided he'd got enough presents to open so didn't buy it, but if I see it on offer, I'm going to be tempted to get it for him this year.

Ds had the rubbish truck from my mum for his 4th birthday. He loved it! I think he may have got slightly more use out of the space shuttle but then again he has the planet protectors space ship and figures. Both the space shuttle and recycling truck are on offer regularly .. my mum paid £15.00 in Sainsburys for it.

thanks for that will keep an eye out...if can get them for 15 could possibly get both otherwise think space shuttle has won cos of all the bits (may regret once have tread on them a lot!

Playmobil rubbish truck is fab. It is one of 3yo ds1's favourite toys, and visiting children (some older) always like to play with it too.

we have hamleys recycling truck which is very similiar to the playmobil .. but was a lot cheaper at the time (looks like playmobil has come down in price)

Its a firm favourite with DS 4

We ahve the mega rig and lots of playmobil altho not the rubbish truck.

Mega rigs imo (there are several types we have them all) are a bit fiddly and not quite for a 4 yr old our ds got his at 7 and that was an ideal age to appreciate the inticacies and the 'play value'.

thanks all for the advice ...now heading towards rubbish truck as managed quick look at space station in RL and not sure ds has the dexterity yet for all those bits....may save it for later
