Can anyone answer a question about cooking on a gas hob please?

If I choose a hob that doesn't have a "flame failure safety device", does that mean that if I have the window open and the flame blows out the hob will keep pumping out gas?
How likely is that ( I have my windows open a lot)?

i have no idea about flame failure safety devices but my gas hob has never blown out from the window. Or from the dts trying to blow it out...

Thanks Chops. I'm sure it sounds a bonkers question, I have a very safety conscious DP!

Not sure what a "flame failure safety device" is but a couple of weeks ago I put a pan on to boil, forgot about it, it boiled over and put the flame out.

DP found it and the kitchen was full of gas, glad we didn't have another ring on at the time.

If you had another ring on it would have relit before gassing the kitchen!
