Hello,

I have the Hotpoint Aquarius WF250 washing machine and it has died

Its no longer spinning during a cycle, it rus through a cycle as normal i.e. filling and emptying, and makes the right noises, it just doesnt spin. You can however spin the drum by hand?!

Anybody know what this might be an how I can fix it?????

Im nearly 39 weeks pregnant and this is NOT what I need!
Thank you!

No help but my sympathies mine died on Saturday, but it was on it's last legs.

You may find that posting on the UKWhiteGoods: Washing Machines forum will help. Post as detailed a message as possible, so that an engineer can try to diagnose fault and give you suggestions on a fix.

UKwhiteGoods Guide: Washing Machine Will Not Spin

nannynick · 11/05/2009 08:35

Does it complete a cycle with only a small load, say 2kg worth of clothing. Some machines won't spin a single item... see the guide I posted to earlier - thus test loads should be about 1/2 the machine capacity.

The guide says that the fault can be caused by "electronic control modules, motors, motor tachos, capacitors, pumps as well as a few other things besides" - so it is quite hard to diagnose.

Does it fail to do all spins in the cycle, or just the last main spin? Did you put a lot of things in the machine... if so maybe you overloaded it.

Ooh Nannynick, you have outed my favourite forum!!

I love UK white goods. See now there will be a mass exodus over there and it won't be so, erm, exclusive any more.

I like it too Doubt there will be a mass exodus over to there - it's not as good as Mumsnet for general parenting chat... but is perfect for 'my washing machine / dishwasher has puked it's contents on the floor' type discussions

Thanks

Someone is coming to look at it tomorrow.

Possibly belt fallen off drum???
