Where can I buy sand for a sandpit?

DS has been given a little combined sand/water table thing for his birthday from the Early Learning Centre. I don't think it comes with sand, but ELC don't seem to sell sand separately and I don't know where to get him some?

Any ideas?

If you want playsand then Argos, B & Q, Toys R Us and Tesco have it. Can you tell I've just had to fill a sand pit?

you can get bags of sand in ELC.
but as others have said, argos, tesco, homebase

we have the same sand and water table.

b&q is a much cheaper option ...they do huge bags of play sand for £3.. would fill the table 3 times over if you are just using one side

My local elc sells sand - I just don't think you can buy it online, you have to go into the store

Agree with Wallace and Slarty, garden centres and buliders merchants sell it much cheaper.

Make sure you park the car quite near. I bought 2 bags from argos the other week and they are soooo heavy. Its really good by the way very soft and fine. Think its £2.89 a bag.

I bought b and q play sand, it is quite damp. Has anyone else had problems with it staining clothing? My daughters shorts are stained! We have a big wooden sandpit that you get in/sit on.I have left the sandpit open in the sun for a couple of warm days that we have had but doesnt seem to be drying out? At the moment its graet for sandcastles etc but am frightened to let my daughter in there as it it ruining her clothes! Any suggestions? Should I get different sand?

I bought some purple play sand at Homebase last week; they also had red. My dds were thrilled that it was purple!
