Title says it all really . The phone wasn't insured with Orange; so understandably they won't replace it, ut neither will they sell me a new one .

I don't want to buy off eBay due to the price of the item - any other thoughts please?

Nope neither do I. I'm making a mental note to leave Orange (after 10 years of being a customer) when my contract next comes up for renewal.

The house insurance covers it - but excess is £150!! So, I've decided to take the hit so that our insurance premiums don't ramp up next year.

Dunno but I feel your pain - I have just started a thread in chat about my iphone which has sadly passed on today. My dimwit of a husband left it on the car roof.

He has been left the task of searching the home insurance, finding me a new handset and working very very very hard to get back in my good books. Which I have to say, isn't going so well as he has just wandered in here to tell me that the barbeque is nearly hot enough, with a beer in his hand and hasn't offered me a drink at all. Not a good start...

Oh growlygus, I feel your pain. The 3 year old PAYG from Tesco Mobile is just not cutting it. I usually deny being into anything gadgety, but I am mourning the loss of the Blackberry. Shallow I know I hope your dh has made some amends .

Well iphone is replaced (covered on house insurance), so I am happy again. DH is slowly emerging from the bad books but will have to keep doing the washing up for a bit yet!
