how long should the battery last when fully charged ?

It depends how high you have the screen brightness set. I noticed a considerable improvement once we'd lowered it! I think they get charged every 3 days with a good few hours use each day. I've never timed it though.

how long do you charge it for?

mine lasts for a week or 2(we play it for an hour or 2 each day)
takes about 2 hrs to charge it,
