Hi, can I ask which babygros we should go for ? Any particularly brilliant finds you want to share ?

Many seem to go over the head and I've noticed on here that people have advised that instead we should go for something which poppers down, or ties to the side etc. etc.

Comments / links appreciated.

TIA (am out most of day today).

no I meant why would anyone want to wash their own child's nappies?

icky ucky disgusting job

can i recommend disposables for the very first poos though, meconium is more like tar than poo

On a serious note, there could well be an argument that centralised washing services, managed properly, are more 'sterile' (higher wash temperature) and more eco (washing more nappies at once in more efficient industrialised machines, nappies reused constantly to maximise client use instead of just one or two kids etc).... when you mention cloth so many hark on about the leccy / water used by your washing machine at home...

Mud, you are a trouble maker. Could you give me any numbers of wet nurses though as obviously wouldn't want dw to feed beanette FROM HER BREASTS.

Hub, yes, rompers were worn in the summer, often next to deliciously soft baby skin (mmmmmm!), but sometimes with a bodysuit (with strict instructions if DH was dressing him that it went under the romper...!). It depends on the weather - often he went barefoot (so I could pretend nibble his toes - mmmmmm again!) in the summer, but if it was a bit chillier then socks too.

There's a lot talked about how babies feel the cold more, which in some instances is true (cold-ish day, sitting in a pram/buggy = extra layer and/or blanket), but DS has always been a toasty little being and I found that however many layers I was wearing, he'd probably do well with the same or fewer

Looking forward to Beanette being born - bet you are too (obviously, like - duh!) - you're such a doting daddy already

... should be quite an experience ! Can't wait to nibble toes. We've been married 6 years this Summer, didn't really feel like popping a sprog any earlier really, but now we're both very excited. We're both around 34ish years old, too, so it was a good time to start !

Not wanting to get into the vest/bodysuit debate, I'd only add make sure they do have envelope necks (means you can actually get them off downwards - not over the head - in the event of the explosive nappy.....)....Only other thing I found is that Next do tiny neck holes with no pops - babies hate this
