Hi, can I ask which babygros we should go for ? Any particularly brilliant finds you want to share ?

Many seem to go over the head and I've noticed on here that people have advised that instead we should go for something which poppers down, or ties to the side etc. etc.

Comments / links appreciated.

TIA (am out most of day today).

In the time it took to compose my masterpiece, TWIGLETT jumps in with more misinformation.

BTW - beanette is due end July / beg. August.

In my book vests finish at the waist.

Bodysuits start at the neck and finish at the crotch.

ermmm.... well I think they do.

MISDEE !!!!!!!! NO !!!

They are patently different concepts.

Maybe it's people South of the River, or North of Watford ?

Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:04

whatever you call it, however you describe it, it will end up covered in poo and puke

starlover · 30/04/2005 22:04

sorry.. bodysuits are vests!

misdee · 30/04/2005 22:07

hub2dee, when your changing the whole vest.bodysuit plus sleepsuit in the middle of the night due to b/f poo explosion u wont care what they are called!

Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:07

baby vests

baby bodysuits

sleepsuits

hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:08

Erm... if you click on Mothercare vests is vests and sleepsuits is sleepsuits and I agree they're all gonna end up in the washing machine.

The Moo must have her mother's thighs if she didn't fit those clothes.

See, it takes a man to teach a woman about baby clothes.

LOL !!!

Twig, your vest link sucks big time.

Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:10

OY

actually it was across the tummy they were too tight (ttthhhhrrrrrpppt)

according to HV the moo is tall and skinny I'll have you know

and however right you may be, and however much you might like to educate us poor women , I know one thing ... I get to sleep through the night now

misdee · 30/04/2005 22:12

i'll be lauging when hub2dee is typing at 3am, complaining the mini-dee has puked and pooed all the 'thingy wotsit'. u wont worry what they are called. all you'll be worried about is if the poo that is bright yellow will come out of the pristine white thingy-wotsits you bought

hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:12

Hugs to all flamethrowers.

(Even when you are so wrong about vests).

gingernut · 30/04/2005 22:13

hub2dee, where have you seen vests (as per your definition) for babies?

First ones we bought were in 2-3 year size. And that was cos I couldn't find bodysuits that big (not good when potty training anyway).

Just wondering.

Don't buy them for a baby anyway. Bodysuits much more cosy.

Take it from the experts, man!

twiglett, its tries to log in as you!!

hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:19

Thank f*ck for John Lewis.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you:

VESTS

Real. Proper. Vests.

You wonder why blokes don't do as much childcare ? It's cos the vocab is flawed. It's a medieval witch conspriacy I tell you. If you would only call things by their proper names we would be able to help you a great deal more.

ahhh can't strip my email address out - how annoying - have had to email mumsnet to ask them to delete it

I shall go back to knitting and stroking my pussy

Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:23

didn't know they made those for little babies

you really don't want to buy anything that doesn't do up under the nappy

they'll ride up

and babies as they get older sometimes start playing with their nappies and can undo them and that ain't a pretty sight in the morning

hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:26

X posts. I just tickled Justine and co too... incase you were off sobbing at your baby incompetence.

Agree vests would ride up over dd's cute nappy wrap .!!!! Man, I love those.

Don't stroke too hard. You'll break it. Breakage may not be covered by feline insurance.

OP posts:
Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:28

oh how cute

you're going for 'real' nappies then?

Twiglett · 30/04/2005 22:29

BTW the picture was of Napisan - a product you will come to know and love

hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:32

Yeah, I think so. I doubt I would want to / could push it through if dw holds out for disposables, but I hope to be able to get to grips with them and make them work.

You're PMSL at me, aren't you ? They can't be that hard ?

OP posts:
hub2dee · 30/04/2005 22:35

Is napisan needed even if one dry-pails ?

OP posts:
misdee · 30/04/2005 22:37

i think u can add it to the wash cycle. zaps those stains right out!
