We got our DS a Bumper bike, it is fab. Very well made but doesn't weigh a tonne.
this one
It's £100 in local shop, so that's a fab buy.

The girlie one might be a bit too girlie though!!

If you want a 'proper' bike I'd highly recommend Islabikes- they're fab. Will get link.

weepootle · 28/04/2009 11:41

Islabike

JustCallMeGoat · 28/04/2009 11:41

the islabike is the one my friend recommended but £200 for a childs bike? surely that is crazy.

Sorry, just realised that the size you'd need is over £200 - our's was a lot cheaper as it's much smaller.

JustCallMeGoat · 28/04/2009 11:45

thing is i am tempted cos they are nice bikes and not 'character' nor have tinsel.

x posts!

It's an awful lot of money but my dd1 (4) plays on hers every day and often goes on 4/5 mile rides alongside dh.

The quality isn't even comparable to the usual girly bikes- none of the other (much older) kids in our street can keep up with her as their bikes are so heavy/badly made.

It all depends how much she uses it and what for.

weepootle · 28/04/2009 11:51

Oh, and you can trade them in when she moves up to next size. Although I've heard they have very good resale value on ebay as well.

JustCallMeGoat · 28/04/2009 11:53
