Are they light to push?

OP posts:
pebbles79 · 27/04/2009 11:44

Yep, really light. Feels like it's got air tyres when it hasn't.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 12:10

Have you used it with your 3 year old or just your 1 year old?

OP posts:
pebbles79 · 27/04/2009 12:18

Just my one year old outside but tried the 3 year old inside and was still as lovely. Massive seat unit, see here.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 12:20

It says the chassis is only 6.5 kg, don't suppose you know how heavy it is with the seat on?

Flightattendant25 · 27/04/2009 12:21

I find it light to push as well. However I hated the basket as you can't access it although it is big. And the hood is very soft so you can't put anything on top of it (pram-abuser here)

pebbles79 · 27/04/2009 12:26

Not much heavier I wouldn't imagine, it's seat fabrics, not an actual seperate seat unit.

AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 12:28

i like mine, i use it with dd2 and dd1 on a buggy board and i find it light to push. the only thing i don't like is the forward facing seat, i wish for young babies you could point it back.

AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 12:29

oh, and it's light enough for me to be able to lift the entire thing bodily containing dd2 and board up 12 stairs every day.

pebbles79 · 27/04/2009 12:33

Think it's biggest downfall is probably that it's really quite big when folded but I don't fold my prams anyway so that doesn't matter to me.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 13:14

Aitch which is lightest to push - nomad or carrera?

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 27/04/2009 13:17

Nomad def easier and lighter to push than Carrera. Wheels don't stick to the ground as easily.
Just a pain that they are so big folded.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 13:18

Lol just CATed you asking that question!

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 27/04/2009 13:20

LOL
I have pics of DS in both if you want to see??
CAT not come through yet but mail me [email protected]

oooh yes please, are you on MSN atm?

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 14:04

Is the nomad lighter to carry than the carrera?

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 27/04/2009 17:30

Lighter but much bulkier.

AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 21:08

i have both, i much prefer the nomad. i use the carrera as a car buggy and it takes up far too much room. the umbrella fold claim is a bit bullshitty imo, yes it folds but pound for pound it's the same volume folded as the nomad and actually less easy to lug around when folded. did i say folded often enough?

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 22:58

Aitch so you think the nomad is easier than the carrera to carry around? I wondered if the bulkiness of the nomad might make it difficult to carry.

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 23:09

what are you thinking of doing with it? i rarely take the nomad down, tbh, all i know is that it takes up the same vol of space in the boot of the car as the carrera. and i really don't find the carrera easy to lug around when folded. not like a maclaren volo, which is a piece of piss.

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 23:36

I would have to fold it up for the bus.

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 23:41

what buggy do you have at the moment? why the urge for a new one? if there's nothing in the basket i'd honestly say that the nomad would be better for the bus but nothing is as easy as a maclaren. (hence the fact that my mother has it).

nappyaddict · 27/04/2009 23:44

Have the luna atm but it's gone mouldy

Mum's got an umbrella fold but I hate 2 handled pushchairs. I just find them so awkward.

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 27/04/2009 23:46

me too. is the microwhatsit too small for your ds, do you think? i can't quite recall the name but you're a pram addict so you'll know.

nappyaddict · 30/04/2009 00:26

Do you mean the micralite? I always think it looks a bit funny.

OP posts:
pebbles79 · 30/04/2009 08:04

Nomad is huge folded and would be awkward to lift onto a bus.
