Your thoughts on springs for the Amby Nature's Nest please...

I've decided to have one, but rather than buying the whole kit, I'm just going to get the sling and matress and fix it to the ceiling. I need to get a spring as well, but it appears that you can only buy the extra strong one separately.

What do you think-

will this be too strong for a newborn (will it give the right amount of bounce)?

Does anyone know where I can buy a standard one?
or
Has anyone moved onto the strong one and would like to sell me their original?

can you get a natures sway? they come without a stand but with the ceiling fixings iirc. you can get a door hanger too so you can use it as a travel cot.

ah, i remember now moffii changed their hammock fairly recently, the one they have now is called miyo, but it does the same job: see here

Yes, I really like the Moffii ones (it was my first choice) but unfortunately they're out of stock until late june/early july. I can't find a single stockist who has any/can get any before then- DC2 is due mid-june. I guess ebay is my best bet.

Thanks for mentioning the Natures Sway- I'd never heard of them. I'll have to have a proper look for them later.

I used my amby from birth with dd2, was fabby and def enough bounce. You can get a amby off ebay for about £80, and its all washable.

Thanks lisa. Looks like ebay might be the answer... anyone else?

I've only used the standard spring, but wouldn't want to use anything less springy (which the extra strong spring presumably is), especially for a newborn. I found DD was too big for the Amby and able to climb out long before I began to think about getting a stronger spring.

Thanks P&L. You've answered my question. I'm going to phone Amby and find out if they'd sell me the standard spring separately, and if not, ebay it is.
