would love to know from people who have the kokua jumper and cheaper pushalong/balance bikes. Think we are going to ask parents for several birthday/christmas pressies in one and go for the kokua jumper but want opinions before anyone splashes out! Thanks

We got a likebike - the kokua jumper metal one - for DS1's 3rd birthday and it's great - best present we've bought him. He got the hang of it very quickly and was zooming around within a week or so, and his balance is great - have heard from friends with a puky that their dd went straight onto a pedal bike afterwards and could ride it immediately. Highly recommend one. Can't comment on the cheaper ones but the likebike is great and also very light in case you need to carry it at all. We thought about one of the wooden ones, but decide the metal one looked nicer and more 'biky' and also as we live in a v wet place, the aluminium would be better for us.

Should also mention that ds2 is a year younger so we justified the expense by deciding that it could be handed down to him afterwards!

We have an Islabike Rothan - it's great, and its resale value on ebay is very good. dd loves hers, and can really see her balance improving on it. It's aluminium, nice and light and looks beautiful.

John Lewis do a metal one for about £30 and it's been absolutely fine. DD1 started riding a pedal bike at 4 after a year on the balance bike.

we had a 29.99 one from aldi, dd had it a year and rode her new proper bike within minutes.

We had a puky which was great. Just looked online though and shocked to see they cost £100 now -twice what we paid only 4 years ago...
I'd get the cheapest you can, they will only be on it for a year or so.
