So having finally given up on my hugabub (dd is 7 months and weighs 18lbs) I borrowed a friends mei tai (a front back and sides) and whilst it was very comfy and easy to get on and get dd in, the fabric seemed very heavy. So just wondering whether this is how they are all built or whether you can get lighterweight ones? Am thinking that we would both be very hot with her in there during the summer and on holiday? Also where are their legs meant to go? I tucked hers downwards but she kept popping them out the sides which to be honest looked very uncomfortable for her (but presume she didn't care?!) Thanks for any suggestions!

Don't know the ones you mentioned, but loved my OTSBH (over the shoulder baby holder), especially once dd was over 6m.

Some are thicker than others, but most MTs and SSCs are thick in order to be supportive, It's not really a problem except in the hottest of weather.

Their legs go out the side - it's comfortable, and good for their hips.
