Mobile for 12 year old.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so apologies if I'm in the wrong place. My son will be 12 soon, and I want to get him a mobile. I just want a bog standard phone, with as few "features" as possible. Can anyone recommend a suitable package, please?

virgin do a £10 one but you dont have to subsribe each month. You get something like 150 mins and 150 txts a month for that to any landline por mobile.

Do you have an old on you could give him? Or orange do reconditioned phones on PAYG as most 12yr olds will lose them pretty quickly ime.
