looking for the 'perfect' baby sling. lke the kari-me but worried about the stretch fabric also if i'll b able to secure it properlly. also really lke the babyhawk tei mai type sling but worried that baby not able 2 b put in face outwards front posission. thght i try a sling rather than the baby carrier with clips etc type. my baby now 9 wks.

You need some stretch in the fabric.

I used a coorie pouch sling from when DD was a newborn until she was about 2.5 and loved it. I do still use it on odd occasions now she's turned 3 but I can't carry her for long now (I tend to use the Hippychick seat instead)

You need the stretch for comfort and it makes the sling more secure.

I've never done it but apparently it is possible to scoot them round to the back. I always used it as a hip carry for an older child or all bundled up in front for a baby.
