What's the best car for 3 kids and occasional friends?

I don't want a huge 4x4, I do want safety, good MPG, low running costs and fairly easy parking. Any recommendations?

zafira? Ive just got an 08 plate and LOVE it! Has 5 seats, huge boot with 2 extra fold out seats
