DS (17 months) is enormous and sleeps really badly in a standard size travel cot. Anyone know where I could buy a bigger one? Thanks so much.

with ds1 i gave up the ghost trying to find one and used this excellent fast aero bed instead, parked in corner of room and improvised other borders to keep him in

We have some extra long ones BUT they are from France... Carrefour to be exact. DD, nearly 2.5 still sleeps in one and she is very tall for her age. They are called 'Sleep and Play' so you could try googling that..

There was a thread very similar to this recetly. I've tried searching for it but am hopeless and can't find it. There was a certain make that did a longer one. Could have been cosatto?

Sorry that's not very helpful but maybe the bump will mean that someone more knowledgeable will see your thread!

Try the Little Life thing which we have, they go up to about age 4 I think. V light and portable, easy to assemble and dismantle - brilliant buy.

I have a chicco lullaby playard travel cot and its about the same length as a standard cot. I got it a good while ago in a sale in our local baby shop so don't know if it has been discontinued, but it is longer than the standard travel cots

could you not put him in a ready bed?

pinkspottywellies · 15/04/2009 23:45

DD is 2.5 now so it was a while ago I was looking but the Boots own brand one was much longer and narrower than the regular ones (like graco etc)

Thanks everyone! Have also been advised by a friend that a BabyDan is fairly long (120cm) - just saying in case anyone else is reading this thread looking for ideas. Really interested in putting him a ready bed - I guess he might fall out as he moves around alot in his sleep, although he does wear a grobag. What is the right time to move them into a bed?

the readybed is just really a sleeping bag with an inflatable mattress,so he coulndt really fall out,if he did its only an inch or 2 off the floor anyway,
i moved my ds into a junior bed at 15m,

when ds1 used the aero bed on holiday at just under 2 years we would find him beside it and on one occasion about 3 foot away. fast asleep each time for 3 nights, by the 3rd night had learnt to stay in it. so turned out to be a nice way of getting him used to staying in bed, and he has been in full size single at home since 2.5 years. no bed side rails, just doesn't fall out. he is a deep sleeper, never hear a peep from him, mind, he's not a wriggler
