Hi
My son is about to go to secondary school in September and has a button phobia!. He finds it very hard to wear or touch any clothing with buttons on!
We have managed through his primary years with zip up polo shirts but his new school won't bend the rules on him wearing a proper shirt.
I am wondering if anyone knows if or where I might buy a shirt (rather like a 'dress' shirt without a wing collar!!) that has the buttons hidden by a flap of material! Sorry my description isn't brilliant, but there is a chance I can get my son to wear it if the buttons aren't on show.
I have read with interest about other children with button phobias on this site and wondered if there are parents who have advice on how to deal with this situation!

Thanks

Bumping for you, I have read that this can be really stressful for a child. In theory it must be possible to sow on an extra strip although I would not know where to start. Had you thought of putting an ad up in the local shop for a seamstress who works from home?

Good luck, if I think of anything else I will post again. Hopefully someone else who has this will come along soon.

My ds has button phobia. I take the buttons off his shirts and sew on velcro.
