Can you help me spend £120 on new pushchair?

I need height adjustable handles as am tall bird. I need pushchair to lie flat a bit, I need a basket (sadly rules out Quinny Zap which I had a girly crush on!) and it needs to be, most of all, mega comfy for my DS who is just 1. Can he have a nice comfy ride too please?

I have a v old Maclaren XT and a gorgeous Jane, both secondhand, the brakes are just about fecked on both so we have decided to invest in a new one!!

Any suggestions would be very nice, I have read pushchair reviews til they are falling out of my ears and I still can't decide.

the handle height on the zapp isnt great either,im 5ft7 and it was JUST high enough for me,
how old is your lo?

Ruby, if you are going for no.2 soon, I would recommend a Phil & Teds. You can just buy the single and when your second is here, buy and slot in the second seat attachment. It is a fabulous buggy/tandem. Smooth ride. Easy and relatively inexpensive to buy spare parts. Good resale on eBay.

I have DD who is 3, and DS is 1.

I did consider the phil and ted but kinda chickened out of spending £350!! Might get one next year (well I can dream) as we are scarily in talks about number 3 ......

I'm 5ft 11, and I had a buggyboard attached to the jane and the mclaren and kept kicking the sodding thing when I walk, not fun for my DD. She likes riding on the footplate of the Jane but it is sooooo huge and heavy and takes up the entire car boot!!

Ruby, I cannot believe how a P&T costs now - £350? When I bought mine 3 years' ago, the single cost me £200 max new.

RubyBlueberry · 12/04/2009 23:39

Yeah - that was with googling it and doing price checking and everything - twas for the whole kit though raincovers etc etc.

I just want a new one !!

There was a link on pushchair shed for maclaren xt (last year's design but brand new sorry can't do links) for 110 in some pram shops? There was one I think in Sailsbury and Oxford? Good for us tallies??

There were also come codes for 50 pounds off when you spend over 100 in Littlewoods direct if you are an existing cx??

nicolamumof3 · 13/04/2009 10:47

it was in smyths, can't get onto their website atm.

i think the xt would be best for you if you can get one. the quest will be too low. Silvercross pop and dazzles are also quite high handled too if that helps! pop you could get new in your budget but i am not a great fan of pops.

carrielou2007 · 13/04/2009 12:29

Ooh that was it (waves at Nicola). The dazzle is lovely, you can get great one's from an ebay seller which are like new for about 80??

The pop's are tall handles but I would rather have xt than a pop - I like Silver cross, I don't like maclarens but Nicola's infulence means I now LOVE them though I only have 4 at the moment!!!

carrielou2007 · 13/04/2009 12:29

Oops, I have 5 but 2 are for sale so only 3 really!!

RubyBlueberry · 13/04/2009 19:02

MX3

Great for a tall person i think. I found it really padded with the insert and the handle was too high for me but I am only 5ft!

lillypie · 13/04/2009 19:16

Jane Energy is a fab stroller for tall people and lovely and comfy for toddlers
