Running bike v proper bike

Dd has always had a bike with stabilizers (as I didn't know about running bikes then), i and is too scared to try it (despite almost daily cojoling). She is now 5, and still has no confidence with it. She loves scooting on her scooter though. Is she too old for me to get her a second hand running bike to get her balance and co-ordination up to scratch? She totally freaks out if the bike isn't 100% upright, or goes too fast, and she isn't grasping that it is her that is in control of the bike.

you could get a normal bike and take the the pedals off then just fit them back on when she is ready. This is what we did with ds and he learnt to ride within a week or two

Oooh that's true (and money saving!) . Yes, I will do that tonight [over excited emoticon]-hope I don't misplace the pedals tho!
