Anticipating school days - Which are the best name labels for clothing and shoes. Iron in, sew in...? i'm a total novice. I need your wisdom!

CD marker pen straight onto the washing instructions.

Renew once a term if necessary

Surname only if intending to pass down to smaller spikey's

I like Cash's name tapes in a fun colour combination so that children who are not yet able to read can recognise their own label.

I did pink lettering on black background, with a little embroidered flower, for my DD, with her first name large in cursive and her surname in capitals. She could recognise her own label before she was three.

I like Cash's sew in ones too, pink for DD, blue for DS (yes, v stereotypical

But I do also resort to the permanent marker pen if I can't be arsed don't have time to sew in a label.
