Our daughter has the Agam chair from Ikea and she loves it.

It's just the right height for the dining table and she felt very grown up when we first got it.

thanks...may I ask how old your daughter is as hub thinks it would be pointless getting this

we have the Agam one too and love it.
ds1 was prob around 2 when we started using it, wouldn't have used it to replace a highchair because he'd have just kept getting down from the table lol
but yes, it's good as it's just the right height. he still uses it and he's 4 now

We have an Agem chair. DD1 was 2 when we bought it. We had DD2 and needed to free up the highchair! She loves it and sees it as her "big girl chair" as it sits her at just the right height at the table.

She did need a bit of time to get used to it, but I'd say it would be fine for an avg 2.5 year old.

My dd is 2.5, I just hate the fact that she has to ask to be put in and out of the highchair and her legs dangle... besides, I have another highchair I use in kitchen so use the antilop at the table...problem is I have been arguing with hub as he LOVES the antilop and doesn't want to swap it.

I have a handysitt that used a couple of times and dd LOVED it but then I changed chairs and doesn't fit anymore (high back)

We had a handysit as a high chair and changed from that to the Agem when she was about 18 months old.

We've had no problems with her getting up and down but then we're quire relaxed about mealtimes anyway. We all eat together and she gets down when she's finished.

if she's 2.5 i'd def get her out of the highchair! she's more than old enough not to need one any more. i mean, if your husband loves it that much he can use it himself lol

and the ikea junior chairs are a good option if she isn't tall enough to use a regular chair. so go for it

lecohen · 11/04/2009 13:38

lol. Think i'll tell hub that, so funny. So annoying, last night was at sil for dinner and they all disagreed with me about getting the junior chair in favour of antilop and i tried to explain that it's better for child's development and more suitable for a toddler but they all disagreed
